Grainger County will hold its annual “Grainger County Clean-Up” during the week of April 12th through April 17, 2021. We would like to take this time to encourage the citizens of Grainger County to take part in this year’s event. This event is part of a national program, “Great American Cleanup”, with Keep America Beautiful to engage volunteers and participants in taking action in their communities each year in order to create positive change and lasting impact.

Grainger County Government, City of Blaine, Town of Rutledge, and Town of Bean Station are partnering this year to continue the Annual Clean-Up event. We hope to promote awareness in our county wide issue with trash accumulation along our roadways, creek beds, lake shores, and wooded areas. This year we are tasked with cleaning up even more litter and debris along our roadways due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Grainger County Government and municipalities would like to take this time to reach out to all citizens for help in picking up litter across Grainger County throughout the week. Without the help and participation from local citizens and businesses our Clean-Up program would not be possible.

We would like to thank participants and volunteers by inviting all to the Annual Grainger County Clean-Up Picnic which will be held at the Grainger County Park at 12:00 noon on Saturday, April 17, 2021.

We will also be available during the Picnic for participating volunteers to submit the number of bags of litter and other items collected throughout the week.  Also, any litter collected throughout the week for the Clean-up may be taken to any of the County Convenience Centers for disposal along with the County Landfill.

We hope that with the help of community members, County/City employees, and volunteers that this year’s Grainger County Clean-Up will be a huge success by reducing the amount of trash and dump sites in our County and by educating our citizens about this growing problem.

Please contact the Grainger County Parks and Recreation office for details on how to become a volunteer or for any supplies needed to participate in this year’s Clean-up at 865-828-9900.
